New security procedures in the American airports

I am currently in Chicago O'Hare, where I finally made it through the
security checks with a ticket.

First, I heard at some point that people should arrive 2 hours before
their flight. Well, that's a little optimistic. I was lucky enough to
have an electronic ticket, no luggage to check in, and to meet an
American Airlines employee at the right time, which reduced my waiting
time to only 2.5 hours. I heard people that were waiting in line for
4.5 hours.

When I arrived at the terminal, there were people everywhere, and you
couldn't even figure out where the line was starting, where it was
going, and what line it was. The first line I got in couldn't issue my
ticket. I took a few pictures, we will see how they turn out.

They finally got organized, and after 2 hours, things were more
organized. I hope that it will be less painful from now on.

Now let's talk about the security procedures. In Chicago, they checked
my id several times. However, yesterday, in San Jose, they asked for
an id to issue my electronic ticket, and after that everybody assumed
that I was Hugo Haaf (yes, there is a typo in my name, which I have
unsuccessfully been trying to fix for the past week...) since I had
Hugo Haaf's ticket in my pocket. Basically, in San Francisco, except
delaying my flight by 1h45, I didn't really see more security, apart
from the fact that you couldn't park a car in front of the airport.

Anyway, I am glad that waiting at the gate to take a flight to Logan.
And I want to wish good luck to people who are still stranded far from
home.

Everybody gotta wear clothes, and if you don't, you get arrested. --

I meant San Jose, not San Francisco.

I finally made it home, but the new security procedure for each plane
departure delayed our departure by approximately two hours that we
spent sitting in the plane.

I am somewhat disappointed by the pictures I took at O'Hare[1], the
mess there isn't showing that well.

Hard work will pay off later. Laziness pays off now!
