Fogo readers..

I'm sure this goes without saying, but here is my disclaimer: The
following is just an observation of facts. I take NO responsibility for
Fogo readers who may choose to invest in this stock.

Cell-loc Inc, (http://www.cell-loc.com) TSE: CLQ, is a Calgary based
company operating in the CDMA cellular location service market space.
This space is very important as the FCC will soon be mandating that
cellular operators provide location services for E911 calls. Cell-loc
has developed the technology, has done live field trials, and holds key
patents for this technology. An advantage that they have over competing
GPS based cellular location services, is no modifications to the
cellular devices are required. It's all within the network.

The stong message in their business plan is that they intend to rollout
the E911 location services for free as a means of attaining mass
deployment of their infrastructure, and then leverage the infrastructure
for Internet location services for ip enabled wireless CDMA devices.

The types of value add location based services they forsee are things
such as:
- Service location. Eg You're in a new city, and you want to find a
listing of all nearby Sushi restaurants. The location service sends your
location to a server, which then indexes a database based on your
location. A map or list with all nearby restaurants can then be
displayed on your Ip wireless device.
- Pet/Child tracking.
- Car security
- et cetera

There are Obvious privacy implications with location information.  Ie.
Users will not want just anyone to know their location. It is an issue
yet to be tackled.

They just released the year end report for the year ended June 30th,
2000, and reported a loss of approx 8 Million. The market seems to have
reacted badly to this, and consequently the stock when from ~$30 to ~$20
in the last two days. Which is surprising, since that level of operating
loss is within the norm for a startup of approx 100 people with near
zero revenue. Their market cap is something like $500 Million Canadian.
It's value is all based on their patents and future potential. However,
the future could potentially be very bright for them.
