I spent Canada Day 2007 riding Whistler's epic cross-country mountain bike trail, Comfortably Numb, with Tristen, Debra and Franziska. It's 24km long with 400m net elevation gain and loss, and much of it is technical riding with roots and rocks. Photos:

Aside from a couple short rides in the last few days I hadn't done anything active in the last 8 months so I was exhausted most of the day (and walked maybe half of it due to fatigue), but what an awesome trail; I can't wait to try it again later in the season when I'm in better shape.

(I wonder how much elevation gain there is if you count all the ups and downs; I think I saw a page somewhere that said it's about 1300m total?)
