Photos, Powder day, Mar 25 2006

I didn't get up to the mountain as quickly as I had hoped today, so I thought I'd be missing out on fresh tracks through the ~20(?) cm of powder we got overnight. I was at the base of Whistler's gondola at 8:30am, and by some stroke of luck made it to the bottom of Harmony chair just as it opened for the day; I was on maybe the 30th or 40th chair.

What an awesome day -- fantastic powder, sunny blue skies, and lots of friends to share it with. I started out with a couple hours on my own (including about three runs through completely untracked snow), then ran into Tristen, Deb and friends in line at Harmony, Clive and Ingrid in line later on, and Kris later in the day. I rode for about 8 hours straight including a 45 min hike up to Flute Bowl, stopping only for 15 mins for some snacks. On the way out I rode Khyber's(?) with Kris, ending up at Creekside with legs made of jelly.
