Photos, Canada Day in Ottawa, 2001

Photos, Canada Day in Ottawa, 2001:

Here are some photos from Parliament Hill in Ottawa on Canada Day, July 1, 2001: my first Canada Day in the nation's capital. (I moved here on Canada Day last year but was too tired from moving to go out anywhere.)

On the way there we stopped by a party at Jenn and Meika's on Elgin street, which was quite full of happy partiers. We got to the Parliament buildings just in time for the 9pm show with Alanis Morisette, but couldn't see the stage from where we were. (so we watched it on my video camera, held up over my head)

Afterwards, the fireworks were cancelled due to strong winds, so we headed home and made a fire to recover from the cold. (yes, in July)

(these photos aren't very good because I was recording video most of the time instead.)
