It sounds amazing no?
Here is the story...
I played too much with dd and the windows partition and managed to crash
the FAT, no big deal, I only use it for photoshop when I need it and when
I am on the road.
The problem started when I wanted to put the laptop (in linux mode) in
hibernation mode. Everytime I wanted to recover from this state, the
pcmcia was not working at all, even after a restart, the only option was
to reboot, argh!

I finally decided to reinstall windows, suspecting a corruption in the
hibernation process (it is a big file in the dos partition).
The Sony comes with nice windows reinstall, very easy to use, plug the
cdrom, boot on it, and it takes 10mn to reinstall the thing.
When it started, I was thinking that I would have to reinstall linux right
after, but no! It kept the partitions, and even the MBR!
Finally a good product :)
And of course it recreated the hibrenation file, (probably updated the
bios), and from now, hibernation on linux works again :)
(and it took me less time than trying to fix the problem in a different
way)
