It would be cool to have also a "white list" of good mua, so that people
that have sucky clients can upgrade to a decent one.
It would include pine, mutt...

Hmmm... true. Does anybody know a decent client for Windows and Mac?

Apparently, Eudora is not bad and it exists on both platforms. However,
it doesn't have a threaded view according to Karl.

For Unix, you know what I think about Pine (not to mention that its
support of mailing lists is not as good as Mutt's[1] AFAIK). :-)
