Hi everyone,

I work with Curtis J at Quest Software Inc. I also have Known Curtis since
he arrived in Ottawa some years back now. I have often heard Curtis speak of
Gerald O. and friends (mostly good things :-). I also heard all about the
trip to Europe. I've been to Boston and enjoyed the freedom trail, and the
Cheers bar that isn't the Cheers on T.V. but enjoyed it anyways. I do like
Boston and I found it to a very unique city in U.S.A.

I am interested in this group for a few reasons but mainly I think that we
have tons of talent and lots of great ideas that would provide us with some
financial independance. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to do what you want
to do with your life, rather than scratch out an meager existance... OK
maybe not meager but still chained to the daily routine of doing something
for someone else. I'd rather be able to have the money to give me freedom in
its purest form. Then I'd like to contemplate the meaning of life for a few
years, then chase a lot of girls around town, hmmmm...maybe the other way
around... get what I mean.

So here is one of my ideas:

Video conferencing is going to happen sooner or later. What I mean is that
everyone will be using the internet to communicate live and real time with
pictures, human interactions, collaborations. I believe the technology is
already here but in my research the software is too expensive or it sucks
badly and I've looked at a lot of vid. conferencing software and mostly they
all suck even if they are expensive.

Target Audience: Mom's and Dad's of the world
we all have them and on occasion we need to talk to them but wouldn't it be
cool if you could give them a piece of software and even they could use it.
Just because it's simple to use doesn't mean it's not powerful. Just look at
Napster for example, Powerful, easy to use, and feature rich. It has changed
to landscape of the music industry for the good or bad that remains to be
seen.

Features:
   Real Time:
        File Sharing
           - must be drag and drop and easy to use

  Video Conferencing
- bad hair day alternative animated characters like "Bugs Bunny" moving
his lips when the voice stream is activated.

        Voice conferencing
           - high quality voice stream

Desktop sharing and full interaction of remote desktop
Auto response for people you don't want to talk to or because
you are away from your desk. i.e. Girlfriend No 1 calls and you
repond with "I'm on my way see you at 6:00pm for dinner", Girlfriend No 2
calls and you respond with "I'm at a client meeting until 10:00pm"... and so
on. You get the picture, right?

Anyways, if have any ideas to expand this one or new ones, I'd be a very
good listener.

Cheers,

David.
