ten years of web geeking

Ten years ago today I discovered the Web: installed XMosaic and
NCSA httpd, and surfed every URL I could find until all the links
were purple. (btw, xmosaic was my favorite browser for quite some
time afterwards; I haven't used a browser since whose back button
was as fast as xmosaic's; nowadays they all sit there breathing
and re-downloading stuff whenever I hit "back".)

I was going to commemorate this occasion by updating my home page
or something, but didn't make time for it today... maybe later
tonight or this weekend.

I have a little blurb about my first encounter with the web
on my site: http://impressive.net/people/gerald/1994/#web
I'd like to add more details but don't remember much more,
and we didn't have the internet archive back then :(
