Text-Mode Browser Friendly Search Form

I have written a tiny search form[0] for text-mode browser users which
uses Google. Gerald doesn't find it as cool as DTRT[1], but I quite like
it. :-)

As I explained it on my site[2], since Google changed its layout, it's a
pain to use Google with Lynx, so I have arranged a solution.

If other people here are Lynx-lovers, they might like this.

Actually, I just noticed that DTRT is a pain too because you need to go
through two links before reaching the input area.

I never use the form on the DTRT page, I use the one on my
start page [2] instead. (and I don't use Lynx very often)

BTW, everyone should have a well-tuned start page like mine with
their most frequently-used links on it; it's so much better than
having to navigate through a bunch of bookmark menus or whatever:
just open a new browser window and you're only a single click
away from all of your favorite bits.

Wow! I can't believe it. I sent them an email on Monday[2] about that, and
they fixed it already!

Here is how the new Google[3] home page looks like with lynx:

                                  Google

                       Search 1,247,340,000 web pages
          _______________________________________________________
Google Search I'm Feeling Lucky  Advanced Search
                                Preferences

Somebody finally cares about usability and accessibility.  People using
Lynx or more generally text browsers must be less than 2% of their
visits, and yet they fixed that. Those guys are awesome.

I guess it's gonna be the end of my tiny search form[0]. I found it
really useful for those four days I had to wait. :-)

The HTML on their home page is still invalid, but I'm so pleased that
they did this change that I'll stop complaining for a while.
