I checked this out today
http://www.idrive.com . The concept is a personal
Web Drive (Web Storage). It's really well done and useful. They give you 50
Mb free and you have areas which are private and shared. Other users can put
stuff in your shared area and you get an e-mail notification when that
happens. I am always running into the situation where I want to share stuff
with work and home. I have been using ftp and hacks through our corporate
firewall but I think this will be better. I think there is opportunities
using HTTP push and a Web server but I haven't really seen anything that
does it.
On Windows box with IE 5.0 or greater it even shows up as a regular drive in
your Windows Explorer -- very nice.
