I went to Nice for some meetings in November 2001. Here are some photos and notes about my trip:
I stayed at the Hotel Plaza (12 Avenue de Verdun, +33.(0)4.93.16.75.75) from Oct 31 to Nov 11. It's a nice hotel but the food wasn't very good for a 4-star hotel in France.
One of the nice things about it is the great park across the street (Albert 1st Garden); it has a huge grassy area that's perfect for hucking a disc around :)
Here are sunset and sunrise as viewed from my room (#322, a "garden view" room):
The rooms on the fifth floor have huge balconies with tables and lounge chairs. (I think those are the "sea view" rooms.)
On Saturday Nov 3 we did some sightseeing around Nice (walked up to the top of a big hill to check out the view):
On Sunday, we walked (and walked, and walked) to Parc Floral Phoenix to relax while looking at gardens, flowers and animals:
After our meeting on Tuesday, we went to a reception/dinner at Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, St. Jean Cap Ferrat, quite a swanky place:
Afterwards, we played pool at L'Escalier Pub in Nice. I lost 100FF on a game with some Irish dude. I was kicking his butt, then missed a couple easy shots and he made four good shots in a row to win.
On Thursday Nov 8 we had a team meeting at Domaine des Courmettes, Tourrettes sur Loup: some indoor meetings mixed with a petanque tournament and some sightseeing:
These photos were selected from a larger set. Some of my friends also have photos from this trip online:
